Scandia was founded by Wilhelm B. Bronander Sr. in 1918 in Fairfield New Jersey and soon became a major player within the packaging industry with their overwrapping machines. Cartoning and case packing machinery were added in 1994 with the acquisition of the Container Equipment Company (CECO). In addition to being a major manufacturer in the US, Scandia developed a strong international presence with machine installations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South America and Australia.
In July 2018 Scandia was purchased by KHS Inc., a division of Salzgitter, and operates out of our Sarasota facility in Florida. The brand name known today is KHS Scandia.
Scandia products include overwrappers, cartoners, case packers & sealers, bundlers, multi-packers, tray formers & loaders serving the tobacco, confectionery, pharmaceutical, food, home and personal care and electronics industries.
KHS Scandia customers can count on responsive installation, setup, training, service, and spare parts availability in every corner of the world.
