Your responsibilities
Assists the design of components for equipment that moves and processes fluids through a beverage or food system from raw ingredients to final packaging applying knowledge of mechanical and chemical engineering; involves heating, cooling, blending with gases and other materials, and filling into a container.
Reads, creates and interprets technical drawings, schematics, process flow diagrams and computer generated reports.
Assists with the design of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and instrumentation; piping systems including fittings, components and tanks to Food & Drug Administration requirements; integrates components in a complex processing system
Follows KHS USA processes and procedures to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications; integrates European and American standards.
Interacts with production to verify and test equipment; provides technical assistance and support to sales, service, and purchasing as directed; supports parts sales by identifying correct replacement parts.
Conducts in house QC and checkouts of equipment prior to shipment.
Troubleshoots performance issues in the field with field service and the customer’s technical representatives; analyzes KHS components, determines if equipment is functioning properly; takes action needed to ensure proper functioning.
Performs all the duties of Designer as required including but not limited to using computer aided design tools to create drawings, using the enterprise resource planning system to maintain Bill of Materials, processing Engineering Change Orders and maintaining drawing database.
Your profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
0- 3 years experience engineering fluid processing equipment in a food, beverage, chemical or industrial packaging/processing environment
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
The position requires up to 20% travel; valid passport and motor vehicle license are required.
Mastery of MS Office applications, ability to demonstrate proficiency within reasonable period of time in SAP ERP system.
Proficiency in dimensioning mechanical parts and assemblies in AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventory or equivalent CADD applications.
Proficiency with material sciences and basic electrical systems.
