All in all, my job is a combination of safety shoes and high heels – quite literally!

Karina Szewczyk

Sales Manager | Department: Sales | Warszawa, Polska

Job report: Karina on her career at KHS in Warsaw, Poland

The ideal combination of working with both people and machines at KHS.

What did you do before you came to KHS?

In 2014 I started to work as a robotic specialist in a Polish company that sells robotic systems such as palletizing, packaging and autonomic mobile robots. It was a great and educational experience.

For seven years I was responsible for preparing of concepts and layouts of robotic stations. I also carried out negotiations for the Sales division. After some time, I took part in conferences and organized workshops for programming industrial robots.

“I always analyze customers’ options, technical aspects and find the best tailor-made solutions.”

Why did you choose to leave that path and join KHS?

I've been familiar with KHS technology for a long time because I've seen the machines in operation at customer sites in the beverage industry. I've always been impressed by the high-performance machines, and when the opportunity arose to join KHS, I was happy to take it!

What do you like most about your job?

My job covers many fields and skills and includes a lot of travelling. Being a Sales Manager for the Baltic area and Poland, I hold negotiations, prepare offers, and have a lot of contact with costumers. But I am also an engineer who understands how machines work and can explain this to our customers. The KHS high-speed systems are simply fascinating! In my opinion, it is the best mix to work with people and machines because I like discussing issues, brainstorming and analyzing data.

Every day is different, so it never gets monotonous: no one project or customer is the same. I always analyze customers’ options, technical aspects and find the best tailor-made solutions. All in all, my job is a combination of safety shoes and high heels – quite literally!

Which challenges does your job have?

I am very proud to be a woman engineer. But sometimes I also think it is challenging as a woman in this industry. A big challenge is to prove that I know what I am selling and how the machines work. I experienced this during my time at university. You have to get used to it a bit, but I think I can manage that very well.

What hobbies do you have?

I love to travel and visit different places all around the world. I am a huge fan of Italy. What I like most about the country is that it is a huge mixture of beautiful landscapes, great food, and diverse cultures, languages and music. It’s a unique atmosphere.

I also like to spend weekends in the south of Poland, walking in the mountains, overcoming my own weaknesses, and being delighted by the wonderful views.
